The City;
Boston is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Massachusetts. With an estimated population of 616,535 in 2008, Boston lies at the center of the Greater Boston metropolitan area. Greater Boston is the tenth-largest metropolitan area and the fifth-largest Combined Statistical Area in the United States, with a population of 4.5 million.
In 1630, Puritan colonists from England founded the city on the Shawmut Peninsula. During the late eighteenth century Boston was the location of several major events during the American Revolution, including the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. Several early battles of the American Revolution, such as the Battle of Bunker Hill and the Siege of Boston, occurred within the city and surrounding areas. Through land reclamation and municipal annexation, Boston has expanded beyond the peninsula. After American independence was attained Boston became a major shipping port and manufacturing center, and its rich history now attracts 16.3 million visitors annually. The city was the site of several firsts, including America's first public school, Boston Latin School (1635), and first college, Harvard College (1636), in neighboring Cambridge. Boston was also home to the first subway system in the United States.
With many colleges and universities within the city and surrounding area, Boston is a center of higher education and a center for medicine. The city's economy is also based on research, finance, and technology – principally biotechnology. Boston has been experiencing gentrification and has one of the highest costs of living in the United States, though remains high on world livability rankings.
The Game;
Boston isn't just the home of funny accents that tell you to 'pahk the cah'. It's cultural background allows it to be the refuge for people with all kinds of backgrounds, dreams and ambitions. We'll get straight to the point when we say we want a place to play in peace. No fighting, no unhealthy OOC drama and no mods who don't actually care about the comm or the players. Pick a character, bring them here and prepare to actually have fun in RP for once!

RULES
No mixing ic with ooc or the other way around. Simple as that. Think of them like oil and water. If you have an ooc problem, contact a mod (either by screen name or mod journal), and we'll help moderate the conflict if needed.
All serious storylines must be cleared through the mods. Includes but is not limited too: rehab, marriage, pregnancy, miscarriage, and rape. PLEASE (I cannot stress this enough!!!) play these out responsibly!!!! Pregnancies should be carried out the full 9 months.
Must be active on aim and journals. If slacking in either you'll get a warning. If you're not able to keep up just ask for a hiatus, we're not mean, we'll understand and grant them. Sometimes you just need a break. If you don't plan on coming back, drop the character. If you ask for a hiatus and three weeks later we haven't heard from you at all, and no one has spoken up for you, you'll be removed. There's no harm in having to reapply!
Changing the update rule is something that I've been looking at doing for a while. Updates will be due ever 4 weeks. I'm not expecting anything huge, or you can update every week or two weeks with something smaller. Neither bothers me any, BUT the condition is activity on the friend's page. One liners are not accepted, but it doesn't have to be five huge paragraphs either. Just something to let the other characters know what's going on or even private updates are accepted. Once again if you need time, please let us know you need a hiatus.
We're looking for a well written bio or at least 10-15 longer interesting facts. You can have a few 'favorites' or short facts in there, but we need details. We'll be taking this and your examples into consideration for acceptance as well as challenges.
This is not a first come first serve community. If you see that the celebrity you want for your character is taken, by all means put in a challenge! The PB will be given to the person we think will best fit in and mesh well with the community. If you are denied on a challenge we encourage you to pick another pb to fit your character and apply again!
Last, but not least, have fun and don't be afraid to contact a mod if you need anything! We're here for that every reason! Every community puts this in their rules, but be sure you do. This community is here for you so we don't care if you flood the friend's page! (Hey you're making it move, right?)
